Father And Son Rescued From Mourne Mountains
A father and son, missing for almost 13 hours in the Mourne Mountains, have been rescued in a joint operation by the mountain rescue team and a coastguard helicopter.
It is understood that the pair had gone on an overnight camping trip, with the family raising the alarm at about 16:00 on Monday when they failed to return home.
Rescuers say that while the father and son were fit and well prepared, the bad weather on Monday morning had caught them out.
The Mourne Mountain Rescue Team say that the men did the right thing when they realised that they weren't going to make it off the mountain. It is understood that they set up their tent, took shelter and waited for help to arrive.
