Teenage Girls Rescued From Mourne Mountains
Seven teenage girls have been rescued from the Mourne Mountains in Newry.
The group contacted the emergency services following fading visibility and poor weather conditions on the mountain on Monday.
Police officers, PSNI Search and Rescue specialists, and Mourne Mountain Rescue located the group.
Two girls were suffering the effects of extreme cold and one was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution.

Pharmacist Sentenced For Drug Offences
A 27-year-old pharmacist from Belfast has been sentenced to 180 hours of community service for unlawfully possessing and stealing controlled prescription drugs. Adam Hanna pleaded guilty to charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and the Theft Act 1969. The offences took place at a North Belfast pharmacy between January and March 2024.

DfI Outlines Congestion Mitigation Measures In Belfast City Centre
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has announced a series of measures aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in Belfast City Centre. A strategic oversight group, comprising the DfI, Belfast City Council, PSNI, and Translink, has been formed to identify and implement effective solutions to reduce peak-time delays.

School Group Rescued From Mourne Mountains
A school group have been rescued from the Mourne mountains after deteriorating conditions put them into difficulty. The group of 11 had been on an expedition and one of the group lost consciousness as a result of severe hypothermia. Several others suffered from mild hypothermia.

Global engineering consultancy, Arup, has been appointed to deliver the new Mourne Mountains Gateway Project visitor experience in Newcastle. The integrated consultancy team has been announced following the confirmation of a £30 million Belfast Region City Deal Contract for Funding by the Department for the Economy.

Father And Son Rescued From Mourne Mountains
A father and son, missing for almost 13 hours in the Mourne Mountains, have been rescued in a joint operation by the mountain rescue team and a coastguard helicopter. It is understood that the pair had gone on an overnight camping trip, with the family raising the alarm at about 16:00 on Monday when they failed to return home.
