Suspected Arson Attack In Belfast

An investigation has been launched into a suspected arson attack in south Belfast.

Shortly before 3.30am on Friday, a car was set on fire in the Malone Avenue area of the city. The blaze spread to a house nearby, causing damage to the ground floor window of the property.

Police have said they believe the fire was started deliberately.

Detective Constable Lyttle from the PSNI said: "It is believed that this fire was started deliberately. This is extremely dangerous behaviour and it has the potential to result in a fatality."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
