NI exam results helpline launched
A helpline has been set up by Northern Ireland’s exams body to deal with exams results concerns from students.
With the issue of this year’s GCE and GCSE results just around the corner, the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA), is setting up a telephone helpline to deal with queries from students, parents and their teachers.
Martin Quinn, Exams Processing Manager at CCEA, said: "Our helpline staff aim to offer teachers, students and their families information, advice and support on a range of issues.
"We can explain what marks or grades mean and for those who are unhappy with their results we can provide information about CCEA’s re-checking and re-marking services.
"For A level students we offer a unique accelerated re-marking service. A level students will be able to have their scripts re-marked, if they wish, and a reply provided by Friday 5 September. This is particularly helpful for students hoping for university or college places."
A and AS Level results from all the exam boards in Northern Ireland, Wales and England will be issued to students this Thursday 14 August while CCEA GCSE Results will be issued the following Tuesday 19 August.
The helpline will be in operation from 9am until 5pm weekdays, from Wednesday 13 until Friday 22 August. The helpline telephone number is 028 9026 1260 while queries can also be made via e-mail on helpline@ccea.org.uk.

CCEA set up exam helpline
Northern Ireland’s exams body, the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA), has set up a special helpline service to support anxious students and parents awaiting GCE, GCSE and A and AS Level exam results, which are due to be released over the next few weeks.
