Exams body offers help to anxious students
As thousands of students across Northern Ireland eagerly await their exam results local exams body, the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA), has launched an examinations helpline to offer advice and support to students, parents and teachers.
The helpline will be open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday between Monday 16th August, three days before the first results arrive in, and Wednesday 1st September.
Commenting on the helpline, CCEA Chief Executive, Gavin Boyd, said: “We recognise that this can be a very stressful time for students, parents and teachers. Our staff will be on hand to provide guidance for all those who may be worried or confused about their exam results.
"The helpline can also explain more about CCEA’s unique accelerated re-marking service. This may be particularly useful to students who are anxious about securing a place at university or college and require a faster response to their query. All requests for this service must be made through the student’s school by Friday 27 August. We will re-mark the script and provide a reply by Friday 10 September."
A level results will be issued to all students on Thursday 19 August while CCEA GCSE results will be issued on Tuesday 24 August. Those students who have taken GCSEs with English or Welsh examining boards can expect to receive their results on Thursday 26 August.
