Suspicious Object In Pomeroy 'Nothing Untoward'
A security alert in Pomeroy, Co Tyrone ended shortly before 22:00 on Wednesday night with army bomb experts declaring the scene safe.
Police called the bomb unit following the discovery of a suspect device on Cavanaheeran Road. The road and a number of adjoining roads were closed during the security operation.
The suspicious object was "nothing untoward".
Strabane Council In Dispute Over Bridge Name
A dispute has erupted in Strabane over the naming of a new bridge.
All parties in the council voted against a Sinn Féin proposal to name the new bridge at Melvin after their late councillor Ivan Barr.
However, due to a Sinn Féin majority the proposal was passed.
Sinn Féin have been accused of using the bridge as a "party political stunt".
Speaking to BBC Radio Foyle, SDLP councillor Patsy Kelly said that a number of local councillors had done as much for Strabane as Mr Barr, so "why pick one councillor above another."
Police Appeal For Witnesses Of Armed Hijacking
Police are appealing witnesses of an armed hijacking in south Belfast on Tuesday.
A woman was forced from her car by a man carrying a knife in the Strangford Avenue area of Balmoral at about 19:30.
The car, a white Seat Leon, was found abandoned a short time later on the Monagh bypass in west Belfast.
Detective Constable Sam McCallum is appealing for anyone who witnessed the hijacking or anyone with any information to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
Detectives are particularly keen to speak with the driver of a black Volkswagen who was in Strangford Avenue at the time of the hijacking. Information can also be passed anonymously via the Crimestoppers charity by calling 0800 555 111.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man stabbed in car hijacking
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed during a car hijacking in Co Antrim on Tuesday. The incident occurred at the Kingsway Complex in Dunmurry at around 10pm. The man was getting into his vehicle when he was approached by another man who demanded his keys.
