SSE Airtricity Confirms Price Cuts
SSE Airtricity has confirmed it is to cut its gas and electricity prices for homes and small businesses in Northern Ireland.
Natural gas prices will be reduced by 7.8% and electricity prices by 8%.
It is thought the drop will save the average household over £100 a year on their bill.
The reductions will come into effect on 1 April 2015.
It will apply to all of SSE Airtricity's 300,000 customers.
Stephen Wheeler, SSE Airtricity Managing Director, said: "I'm pleased today that we're announcing cuts to our natural gas prices of around 8% and cuts to our electricity prices of 8%, saving a typical household energy customer £108 in their annual natural gas and electricity costs.
"Our announcement today delivers on the promise we have always made that if we can lower energy prices, we will, and reflects our long-standing approach to buying energy on wholesale markets which ensures we can provide our natural gas and electricity customers with competitive products and stable prices at all times, as well as the cheapest home electricity switching products in the market."

NIE cuts tariffs by 3%
Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) has today announced a 3% reduction in electricity tariffs. Around 680,000 NIE domestic customers will see their bills reduced by around £11, the equivalent of a price cut of over 6% in real terms, once inflation is taken into account.
