'Gay Cake' Case Comes To Court
The so-called "gay cake" case has got underway at the High Court in Belfast.
Ashers Baking Company is facing a discrimination case, brought by the Equality Commission, over its refusal to fulfil a customer's order for a cake featuring a pro-gay marriage slogan.
The court case got underway on Thursday morning, with supporters of both the christian-bakers and the man who ordered the cake, filling the public stands.
The case is ongoing.

Work Underway For Free Hospital Parking In Northern Ireland
Work has begun at several hospital sites across Northern Ireland as part of the preparations for the introduction of free car parking in May 2026. Health and Social Care Trusts have been actively preparing for the implementation of a new traffic management system since the Hospital Parking Charges Act was passed in 2022.

Police have welcomed the recent sentencing of a man who was found guilty of 22 historic sex offences. A judge at Dungannon Crown Court handed the 53-year-old from Omagh a sentence of five years imprisonment and a further two years on probation on Tuesday 28 May.
