Northern Ireland film and TV fund launched
The Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission (NIFTC) today launched its Markets and Festivals Fund which aims to help local talent establish Europe wide contacts.
The Fund, which will make grants of up to £1,500 available, has been created to assist NI talent with financial support to attend established markets and festivals to connect with the industry across Europe.
The subsidy has been created with the financial support of local government agency, Invest NI and is a three-year rolling fund.
The NIFTC’s Chief Executive, Richard Williams said: “It is very important that our film and television producers take every opportunity to engage with both broadcasters and film financiers. This fund is intended to, in some small way, facilitate that process”.
Interested parties can apply via the NIFTC’s website on www.niftc.co.uk or contact the NIFTC on 028 90 232444.

£17m To Support Pensioners Affected By Winter Fuel Payment Changes
Communities Minister Gordon Lyons has announced a £17 million fund to support pensioners who have lost eligibility for the Winter Fuel Payment due to recent UK government changes. SF Calls For Action On NI Mental Health Services
Sinn Féin has called for more to be done to improve mental health services across the north of Ireland. The party's mental health spokesperson, MLA Órlaithí Flynn, made the call after the release of the Registrar General's 2023 Annual Report which has highlighted an increase in deaths by suicide in 2023.
