NI Healthcare Trusts Win Awards At Hospitals Ceremony
The Health Minister Simon Hamilton has congratulated the Northern and Southern Health Trusts for receiving numerous awards at a hospital awards ceremony.
The trusts received prizes at the CHKS Top Hospitals Awards.
The Northern Trust won the CHKS patient safety award, a national accolade for an outstanding performance in providing a safe environment for patients.
The Trust was also recognised along with the Southern Trust for the top 40 Hospitals Awards list.
It is the fourth consecutive year the Southern Trust has been included in the awards listing.
Mr Hamilton said: "These awards recognise the commitment to driving improvement and engendering a culture of excellence throughout our health and social care sector in Northern Ireland.
"They underscore the significant contribution to the quality of the patient experience and are a worthy recognition for everyone involved.
"Any award is a significant achievement and these awards clearly demonstrate that, despite continuing pressures, healthcare professionals throughout Northern Ireland continue to strive to provide the best possible standards of care for their patients.
"There is excellent work going on daily across our health and social care sector and I would wish to pay tribute to all the dedicated staff that ensures patient care and safety is paramount."

Work Underway For Free Hospital Parking In Northern Ireland
Work has begun at several hospital sites across Northern Ireland as part of the preparations for the introduction of free car parking in May 2026. Health and Social Care Trusts have been actively preparing for the implementation of a new traffic management system since the Hospital Parking Charges Act was passed in 2022.
