Investigation Launched Following Arson Attacks

Police have launched an investigation following two arson attacks in Ballyclare and Carrickfergus.

A car wash firm on Marine Highway was set on fire at around 11.30pm, and another car wash business on Main Street was extensively damaged after being set alight on Monday morning.

Detective Sergeant John Caddell said: "Police are investigating to identify if there are any formal links between these incidents and are appealing to anyone with any information that may assist the investigation to contact Neighbourhood Officers in Ballyclare and Carrickfergus on the non-emergency number 101. Information can also be passed anonymously via the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111."

Investigation Launched Following Arson Attack On Baptist Church
Police have launched an investigation following an arson attack on a Baptist Church in Co Down. Tyres were put up against the side of the building on the Loughbrickland Road in Rathfriland and set alight between 11pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday, 18 May. Damaged was caused to the side of the church and windows.

Murder Investigation Launched Into Disappearance Of Damien Heagney
The PSNI's Major Investigation Team have launched a murder investigation into the disappearance of 47-year-old Damien Heagney from Cookstown. Mr Heagney was reported missing on Tuesday 19 July and police have said that they are "keeping an open mind" they now believe that he has been murdered.

Man Dies In Motorway Collision
A man has been killed in a collision on the M2 motorway on Sunday. A woman was also injured in the crash and is in a critical condition in hospital. The incident occurred at the Dunsilly roundabout at approximately 5.45pm. The man who died was the driver of a dark grey Vauxhall VX220 sports car.

Investigation Launched Following Fire In Carrickfergus
An investigation has launched after significant damage was caused to a house and neighbouring properties in Carrickfergus. The blaze started at a property on Victoria Road at around 3pm on Wednesday, 14 March. Emergency services attended the scene and put the fire out. No injuries were reported.

Investigation Launched After Reports Of Shots Fired In L'Derry
Police have launched an investigation following reports a number of shots were fired in L'Derry. The incident is believed to have happened in the Old School Lane area on Wednesday, 31 May. Police were contacted by members of the public, however there were no reports of any injuries or damage to properties.
