Temporary Chair Of The Governing Body Appointed

Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry has announced the appointment of Dr Ian Walters as Temporary Chair of the Governing Body of Belfast Metropolitan College.

Minister Farry said: "Dr Walters has been a longstanding member of the College Governing Body and I am pleased to appoint him to this role. Dr Walters has significant leadership skills which will ensure that the College will maintain its focus on the quality of teaching and learning until I appoint a permanent Chair.

"I would also like to note the achievements of the outgoing chair, Ricky O'Rawe. Mr O'Rawe has led the College through a period of significant change over the last five years, and I would like to thank him for his contribution to the College and the wider further education sector."

Tyndall National Institute To Create 170 Jobs
The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Micheál Martin has announced the Tyndall National Institute, Ireland's largest Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Research Centre, is to create 170 additional research positions as a result of a 50 million euro expansion programme.

National Construction College Scotland Launches New Apprenticeship
