Dunluce Castle To Host Archaeological Event

Dunluce Castle is to host a family friendly archaeological event on Saturday 25 July from 10.30am – 4.30pm.

As part of the Festival of Archaeology, the whole family will have the chance to step back in time and experience what life was like at this late medieval castle. Medieval music, musketry and cannon displays will add to the atmosphere as well as a chance to meet the blacksmith and infamous barber-surgeon.

Visitors will be able to explore the results of recent archaeological excavations at the castle, which have revealed the’ lost town’ of Dunluce and the terraced castle gardens. Geology themed tours of the iconic site will also offer the opportunity to explore the spectacular natural setting of the castle, perched on the cliffs of the north Antrim coastline.

Free parking for the event will be provided at the Magheracross tourist car park, with a free shuttle bus to the castle. Normal admission rates to the castle apply and no booking is necessary.
