Attempt To Murder Police Officers Condemned
The DUP has condemned the latest attempt to murder police officers in Strabane, County Tyrone.
A mortar bomb was discovered in the town in the Cemetery Road area in the early hours of Saturday morning.
West Tyrone MLA Tom Buchanan said: "This is not the first such attempt however as there have been a series of attacks over time designed to target police officers within the town.
"It is vital that everyone in the community takes a stand against these terrorists. This latest incident, as with so many others has had a disruptive impact on the local community, but thankfully the attack was not successful.
"Suspicions for this attack will obviously rest with dissident republicans. Full support must also be given to our security forces as they seek to tackle the threat posed by those who wish to drag us back into violence."
