Five arrested over DPP threats
Five people have been arrested in connection with death threats issued against members of the district policing partnership (DPP).
Four men and a woman where apprehended by police in Strabane, Co Tyrone at around 7am on Thursday morning.
Police confirmed that the five held were being questioned about dissident republican activity over a certain period of time.
Security Minister Jane Kennedy, MP, described the latest bout of death threats as "the lowest form of bullying.
"I strongly condemns these death threats and the intimidation that is being meted out to these very courageous people," she added.
Today's arrests follow a number of attacks on members of the DPP, the latest of which saw a Co Derry woman have her car burnt out by arsonists.
So far, two people have resigned their posts following intimidation from republican elements.

Number Of People Receive Death Threats In East Antrim
A number of people living in the Glens area of east Antrim have received death threats. The threats are believed to have been from a gang masquerading as republicans. Sinn Féin Oliver McMullan condemned the threats. He said: "There is no justification for these actions and I call for the threats to be lifted immediately.

Two men have been arrested over alleged death threats sent to Oldham manager Darren Kelly from Northern Ireland. Greater Manchester Police arrested a 27-year-old man and 42-year-old man on suspicion of making threats to kill. They are being detained by the police for questioning.

Loyalist death threats condemned by postal unions
The Royal Mail have confirmed that they are treating loyalist death threats made against postal workers in Belfast seriously. Postal unions have condemned the threats and the Royal Mail are understood to be in discussions with police to increase security for postal workers. It is reported that two of the employees threatened are managers.
