Two Devices Explode In Co Antrim

Police have launched an investigation following two explosions in Ahoghill, County Antrim.

The explosive devices went off at two separate addresses in the Brookfield Gardens area at around 2am on Thursday.

No-one was injured however the front of one of the properties was damaged.

Sinn Féin Councillor for Mid and East Antrim Council Patrice Hardy said: "We are extremely fortunate that we are not waking up to death or injuries this morning. 

"Those behind these incidents cared little for the community they attacked. 

"While endangering life we also now have families evacuated from their homes. 

"I would appeal for anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious last night to bring that to the PSNI."

Two die in road traffic incidents
Two men have died following separate road traffic incidents over the weekend. Damien McGovern, 17, from Drumaran in Letterbreen, near Enniskillen, died following a collision at Sligo Road in Belcoo on Sunday evening. A 37-year-old man has also died after his lorry crashed in Greenisland, County Antrim early on Monday.

Man's Body Recovered On The North Antrim Coast
The body of a man has been recovered on the north Antrim coast. Police attended the scene following the sudden death of a man in the area of Dunce Road in Portrush on Tuesday morning, 02 November. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

Three 'Viable' Explosive Devices Found In Antrim
Three explosive devices have been uncovered during a security alert in Antrim, with a local councillor claiming they were abandoned beside a busy main road. The PSNI received a report of a suspicious object on Sunday 04 November and were forced to close part of the main A26, between the Dunsilly roundabout and the Kilbegs Road roundabout.

Four Dead On Roads
The death of a teenager driver following a car accident in County Antrim overnight and another today in Co Down has brought the weekend death toll on local roads to four. The young man died at Carnlough Road outside the village of Broughshane at about 1.20am on Monday morning.
