Unemployment Claimants Drop By 1,100
The number of people unemployed in Northern Ireland fell by 1,100 in September to 40,700, according to the latest Labour Market report.
In addition, the number of people claiming unemployment decreased by 11,200 over the year.
The Labour Market Report was published today by the Northern Ireland Statistics & Research Agency.
The main findings from the Labour Force Survey (LFS) indicated that the NI unemployment rate decreased by 0.3% over the quarter to the end of August and fell over the year to 6.0%.

The number of people claiming unemployment benefits in Northern Ireland has dropped, new figures have revealed. A total of 31,200 people claimed in May 2017, according to the latest labour market survey. The rate is above the UK averages of 4.6%, however it is below the European Union rate for March 2017.
