No licence, no fireworks, says Minister
Government Minister Jane Kennedy has called on members of the public interested in purchasing fireworks this Hallowe'en to purchase the necessary licence.
A three-week radio advertising campaign which reminds the public of the need for a licence has already commenced.
A poster has also been issued to all firework retailers urging the public to apply in good time for their licences.
Ms Kennedy said: "The public were hugely supportive of the Regulations introduced last year which made it compulsory for people wishing to purchase, possess and use fireworks to have a licence.
"I am confident that we can repeat last year's success but only if those intending to use fireworks apply for a licence in plenty of time, buy legal fireworks from responsible retailers and use care and consideration in their use of the fireworks."
In Northern Ireland, the completed application forms and the licence fee of £30 must be with the NIO Firearms and Explosive Branch by October 20.
Licence application forms are available from fireworks retailers.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) are joining forces to promote firework safety ahead of Halloween. Halloween is typically a very busy time of year for emergency services with an expected increase in calls reporting a range of concerns, particularly around the misuse of fireworks.

Deadline Looms For Fireworks Licence
Anyone wishing to buy or use fireworks in the coming days and weeks is urged to seek a fireworks licence by tomorrow, Wednesday 23 October. Local government services are reminding members of the public it is an offence to buy or have fireworks without one.

Justice Minister David Ford has reminded the public that anyone wishing to purchase, possess or use fireworks, requires a licence. He added that applications for the use of fireworks over the Halloween period must be submitted to the Department of Justice by no later than 23 October 2013.

Firework Display Organisers Urged To Submit Licence Applications
