Police woman injured in attack
A police woman has been treated in hospital after a police patrol was attacked by youths in east Belfast last night.
The incident occurred near the Markets area of the city when the officer's car was pelted with bricks and other missiles as it drove along East Bridge Street.
The officer needed stitches to her face and glass removed from an eye after one of the car's window smashed in.
Police in east Belfast have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.
Elsewhere, police have said they believe a gun attack on a house in Co Londonderry this morning was sectarian.
Three people escaped injury in the attack after shots were fired at the front of the house which is situated on the Rochester Court in the Ballysally area of Coleraine. Slight damage was caused to the front door and window.
The SDLP's John Dallat condemned the incident and said such an attack turned human right's on its head.
