Met Office Issues Yellow Weather Warning
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for strong wind and rain throughout Northern Ireland from noon on Wednesday until 3am on Thursday.
Southwesterly gales are expected to develop on Wednesday and they may become severe in some areas during the afternoon and evening.
Gusts of 60-70mph are expected along the north coast.
A Chief Forecaster said: "An Atlantic depression will move east across Northern Scotland on Wednesday, bringing a swathe of strong winds on its southern flank affecting southern and central Scotland as well as parts of Northern Ireland and northern England. Frequent showers or some longer spells of rain may lead to some localised surface water flooding, given the very wet state of the ground."
