Police Investigate Arson Attacks In Ballymena

Police are investigating after two vehicles were targeted in overnight arson attacks in Ballymena.

One car was set alight in Dunclug Gardens at around 3.30am. The other in Dunclug Park shortly before 5am.

The vehicles are believed to belong to two Eastern European males living locally.

Police are treating these incidents as hate crimes and officers would like to speak to witnesses or anyone with information. The number to call is 101.

Woman Arrested Following West Belfast Security Alert

A woman has been arrested following a security alert in west Belfast on Sunday.

The alert began following the discovery of a number of suspicious items at a house in Broom Close.

The 57-year-old woman was arrested as part of an investigation into dissident terrorism.

Pupils Sent Home After Burglary Discovered

Pupils at Drumragh Integrated College were sent home on Monday morning after it was discovered there had been a break in on Sunday night.

It is understood that burglars used sledgehammers to smash their way into the school.

The school's principle, Nigel Frith, said that the burglars took "surprisingly little", but a number of telephone wires had been cut and alarms broken.

Men Arrested In Connection With Right-Wing Extremism Released
Four men arrested in connection with right-wing extremism have been released. The men, aged 29, 30, 36 and 46, were arrested following house searches in Ballymena and Coleraine on Wednesday, 26 October. The men have been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

Man Arrested Following Incident At House In Coleraine
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.

Police renew murder appeal
Police have renewed their appeal into the murder of a man in Co Down last month. Andrew Cully, a father of two teenage boys from Greyabbey, was shot up to 10 times as he sat in his parked car in the loyalist West Winds estate in Newtownards on 24 March. Detectives want to speak to anyone who saw Mr Cully sitting in his car prior to the shooting.

Man Arrested Following Two Stabbing Incidents In Belfast
A 27-year-old man has been arrested following two stabbing incidents in Belfast city centre. The injuries to both victims are not believed to be life-threatening. Inspector Donna McGrady said police were alerted at about 1.15am by a member of the public on Bedford Street to a fight going on in the area.

Man Arrested Following £200,000 Cannabis Find In Lisburn
A 53-year-old man has been arrested after around £200,000 worth of cannabis was found during searches at a house in Lisburn. The suspect has been detained on a number of drugs offences. Police said the searches like this one "demonstrate our ongoing commitment to tackling the scourge of drugs in our society".
