Man Arrested Following Drugs And Stun Gun Find In East Belfast

A man has been arrested after an estimated £4,500 drugs and stun gun find in east Belfast.

The suspected cocaine was seized by officers from the local Titanic and East Belfast Neighbourhood Team during a planned search of a property in Bryson street.

The 22-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with a number of drugs and weapons offences.

A firearm, believed to be a blank firing pistol, was also recovered along with a quantity of blank ammunition.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Sinn Féin Councillor Niall Ó Donnghaile said: "The community in the Short Strand reject totally those who would try and pollute our area with such blatant disregard.

"This is precisely the type of proactive policing the community this area support. We want a safer neighbourhood where those who would try to contaminate our young people with drugs are taken off the streets."

The men, aged 33 and 38, were arrested following the seizure of suspected Class A drugs, at around 8.30am on Thursday. Drugs Seized & Man Arrested In East Belfast
A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences following a proactive policing operation in east Belfast on Sunday afternoon, 31 March. A haul of Class A and B drugs, including herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of around £25,000, were found inside a sports bag and seized.
