Number Of Cigarettes Stolen During Shop Robbery In Newry

Police have launched an investigation following a robbery at a shop in Newry.

The incident happened at premises on the Millvale Road area at around 4.25am on Monday.

It is believed that a vehicle rammed the shutters of the shop and gained entry. A quantity of cigarettes were stolen.

The incident is being linked to an attempted burglary at a shop in the Silverbridge Road area that occurred at approximately 3.30am. Shutters of the shop were rammed but no access was gained to the premises.

Detective Sergeant Emme Wallace said: "I would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in these areas, or who knows anything about these incidents, to contact detectives at Ardmore Police Station on the non-emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Pedestrian Dies Following Road Traffic Collision Ikn West Belfast
A female pedestrian in her 70s has tragically died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast on Saturday, 9th November. The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured pedestrians were taken to hospital.
