Two Men Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was shot in the leg in west Belfast.
The attack happened in the Glasvey Drive area of Twinbrook shortly before midnight on Tuesday.
The victim is currently in a serious condition in hospital.
Two men, aged 25 and 35, were arrested and are currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
Detective Inspector Cummings said: "A motive for this attack has not yet been established and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that would assist with our investigation to contact Detectives in Lisburn Police Station on 101. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
Sinn Féin MLA Jennifer McCann condemned the attack.
She said: "Local people are shocked and angered that a man has been shot and seriously injured in their area.
"Following the shooting there was a major police operation in the area and tensions were running high.
"I am calling on people to remain calm.
"There needs to be a full and thorough investigation by the PSNI into the circumstances of last night's shooting and those responsible must be brought to justice."

Man receives gun shot wounds in Derry attack
A man and woman who were badly injured following an assault in Londonderry had been abducted hours before in County Westmeath. The 42-year-old man and 38-year-old woman were found at High Park in Creggan at around 5:00am. They had been taken from their home in Mullingar between 8:00pm and 9:00pm on Monday evening and driven more than 120 miles.

Man Shot Dead In West Belfast
Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was shot dead in west Belfast. The attack happened at a house in Glenwood Court, Poleglass, at around 8.15pm on Thursday, 20 October. He has been named locally as Joe Reilly, aged 43.

Man Shot In Both Legs In L'Derry
A man in his 30s has been shot several times in the legs in Co L'Derry. The shooting attack happened in the Rinmore Drive area at around 10.30pm on Tuesday, 09 August. The victim was shot in each ankle and once in the thigh. He is currently being treated in hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Women Questioned Over Comber Murder
Two 20-year-old women have been arrested following the murder of a man in Comber in January. 36-year-old Philip Strickland was found shot dead in a car in the Ballydrain Road area on 11th January. Seven people have already been charged in connection with the murder and 16 people have been questioned.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of Colin Horner
A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Colin Horner in Bangor, Co Down. Mr Horner was fatally shot outside a supermarket in from of his young son on 28 May this year. The suspect has been taken to Musgrave police station to be questioned.
