Armagh Firm Fined After Construction Worker Seriously Injured
An Armagh firm has been fined for two health and safety breaches at Laganside Crown Court.
Raptic Limited was fined £2,400 plus costs of £1,780.14 after a construction worker fell from a height on 05 September 2014.
The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI) launched an investigation following the incident.
The fall occurred while the worker, who sustained several serious injuries including nine broken ribs and a fractured left hand, was fitting panels during the construction of temporary decking at Galgorm Resort and Spa.
Kevin Campbell, an inspector with HSENI’s major investigation team, said: "All employers must ensure that proper precautions are put in place so that fall from height incidents can be prevented.
"It is essential that the proper management and monitoring of contractors on site, along with appropriate training and equipment will help to ensure that all workers are able to work safely."
