Arson Attack On Mural Being Treated As 'Hate Crime'

Police are treating an arson attack on a mural in north Belfast as a hate crime.

The John Henry Patterson mural on Northumberland Street was damaged after two containers of accelerant were set alight.

The incident happened at around 1.30am on Thursday, 09 June.

Chief Inspector Gavin Kirkpatrick said: "The incident is being treated as a hate crime and police would like to hear from anyone with information or anyone who was in the area and noticed anything or anyone suspicious."
