Cocaine seizure worth £1m says drug squad
Drugs squad officers have recovered cocaine worth an estimated street value of £1 million.
The seizures were made in the Lisburn and Lurgan areas on Thursday.
Welcoming the capture, Security Minister, Jane Kennedy, said: "This is another significant success in our relentless campaign against organised criminals. I pay tribute to the efforts of the police, and other law enforcement agencies, who are working tirelessly to remove these gangsters from our streets.
"The confiscation of these drugs has prevented further misery in our society. We all have a role to play in ensuring that these people, who exploit the vulnerability of others, are brought to justice."
Police said the seizure was part of an on going investigation into organised crime in the mid-Ulster area.
One person has been arrested and is helping police with their enquiries.

Officers also seized a large sum of cash.

Two men arrested in £18m cannabis seizure
Two men have been arrested after police made their biggest ever seizure of cannabis in Northern Ireland yesterday. Three tonnes of the drug, with an estimated street value of £18m, were found at premises in Newtownards, County Down, during a joint operation by the PSNI and officers from the Revenue and Customs Service.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
