'Viable Pipe Bomb' Found In West Belfast
Residents had to be evacuated from their homes after a device was found during an overnight security alert in west Belfast.
The viable pipe bomb was discovered outside a house in the Andersonstown Crescent area on Tuesday, 26 July.
Police and army bomb disposal experts attended the scene and made the device safe.
A number of roads were also closed during the alert.
Residents returned to their homes at around 3.30am and roads have been reopened.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
Sinn Féin MLA Alex Maskey said: "Several homes had to be evacuated after a pipe bomb was found at house in Andersonstown Crescent in west Belfast.
"Families were out of their homes for several hours as a result of the security alert.
"Incidents like this serve no purpose other than bringing disruption to the community and need to stop immediately."

Security Alert Ends In West Belfast
A security alert in west Belfast has ended after nothing untoward was found. Army bomb experts were called to St Mary's Gardens in the Beechmount area around 9.30pm on Thursday night to examine a car. Some 100 homes were evacuated during the alert, with residents being moved to a nearby community centre.

The alert has now ended and the device has been removed for forensic examination.

Hundreds Of New Homes To Be Developed In Co Down
Approximately 50 construction jobs are to be created as part of a £50million project to develop 900 new homes in Comber, Co Down. Northern Ireland homebuilders Hagan Homes has started construction work on the first phase of the 'Enler Village' site on the Newtownards Road, which includes the development of 17 new homes.
