Man Armed With Wheel Brace Robs Service Station In Lisburn
Police have launched an investigation after a man, believed to be armed with a wheel brace, robbed the Applegreen service station on the M1 Westbound in Lisburn.
The incident happened just after 4.15am this morning, 05 September.
The man demanded money from a member of staff and a sum of money was handed over before the suspect fled the scene.
He is described as being approximately 5ft7inches/5ft 8inches tall, medium build, going bald and aged between 30-35 years old. He was wearing a high viz jacket.
A short time later at approximately 6.15am a Volkswagen people carrier was found burnt out on the Lagan towpath, Lisburn. A possible link between the vehicle and the robbery is being investigated.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

The PSNI in Lisburn have issued an appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of Thomas McKeown. The 52-year-old was last seen at around 11.12am in the centre of Lisburn on Tuesday 11 June. Police said that Thomas is a "vulnerable adult" and they are keen to trace his current whereabouts.

The family of a missing Lisburn man are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare. Mr John Nesbitt, 29, was last seen in the Flush Park area on Thursday 19 November 2015. He is described as being 5ft 10inches tall, of slim build, with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing dark trousers, a dark jacket and grey shoes.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Heavy Snow Closes Over 80 Schools
Over 80 schools across Northern Ireland have been closed as the heavy snow continues to cause disruption on Tuesday morning. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning, as the snow is continuing to affect many roads. Areas which have been majorly disrupted include Lisburn, Castlereagh and Carryduff.
