NI High Court Rejects Brexit Challenge
The judge at a High Court in Northern Ireland has rejected the first legal challenge to leaving the European Union (EU).
Earlier this month, four NI parties, Sinn Féin, the SDLP, the Alliance Party and the Green Party, suggested that the government could not trigger Article 50, the formal legal process for leaving the EU, without a parliamentary vote in Westminster.
The judge ruled there was nothing in the 1998 Good Friday Agreement which meant the government could not trigger Article 50.
In the June referendum 56% of NI voters chose to remain, however the overall UK result was 52% in favour of leaving.

A mother and baby have been injured in a road accident in Downpatrick involving a horse transporter. It is thought that the empty horse transporter rolled down a hill and hit the mother and baby on Irish Street at about 14:00 this afternoon.

Mini-tornado hits Buncrana
A mini-tornado has struck a County Donegal town, causing substantial damage. Ardavan Square in Buncrana, was hit by strong winds just after 7pm last night, leaving homes, cars and trees seriously damaged. It is understood that a local weather station had no warning of the storm, which is understood to have only lasted a few minutes.
