Green Party Cllr Ross Brown To Step Down From Politics
Green Party Councillor Ross Brown has confirmed he is to step down from politics and has resigned from his seat.
Mr Brown made his decision after he was offered a new post which requires him to move away from Northern Ireland.
He will be replaced on Belfast City Council by Georgina Milne.
Cllr Brown said: "I want to take this opportunity to offer thanks to my mentors, fellow councillors and City Hall staff who have helped me serve my constituents as best I can. Most of all, however, I want to thank the people of East Belfast for putting their trust in me to represent them. I am sure that they will offer the same level of support to my successor, Georgina Milne, who I am confident will serve them well."
Green Party Leader, Steven Agnew MLA, said: "I would like to thank Ross for his hard work representing his constituents and wish him well for the future. Councillors work incredibly hard on behalf of their constituents, and Ross has been a shining example of this since his election in 2014."

Urgent Search To Locate Missing Teen
Police have launched an urgent appeal for information as they attempt to locate a missing 15-year-old girl. Abbie Lowden was last seen at the Falls Park Festival at around 11.15pm on Thursday evening, 08 August. She is described as 4'11'' in height, of slim build, with tanned skin and long brown hair.
