PHA Issues Norovirus Warning
The Public Health Agency (PHA) has issued a warning for people to "be aware" of the vomiting and diarrhoea virus, also known as the norovirus, which is spreading throughout Northern Ireland.
The virus is believed to be having an impact in some hospitals as well as nursing and residential homes.
Dr Lorraine Doherty, Assistant Director of Public Health (Health Protection) at the PHA, said: "It's not unusual to see an increase in the winter vomiting and diarrhoea virus at this time of year, so we are urging people to take extra care with hand hygiene and, if you have the illness, take simple steps to prevent the spread.
"The most common symptoms are nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea, which can begin suddenly. This can also be accompanied by a raised temperature, headache and sore limbs.
"It is very important that people who have symptoms do not visit hospitals, their GP surgery, or nursing and residential homes. The illness can last as little as 12 hours or up to three days and the best treatment is to stay at home, rest, take plenty of fluids, and reduce contact with others, both in the home and at work."

The Public Health Agency (PHA) is reminding the public of the importance of thorough and regular handwashing, particularly during family days out this spring and summer, ahead of World Hand Hygiene Day this Sunday (5th May). Good hand hygiene is crucial to prevent the spread of infections that can be picked up from animals or contaminated water.

E. Coli Outbreak Under Investigation
A popular restaurant in Belfast has been closed following an outbreak of E. Coli. The Public Health Agency (PHA) is currently investigating an outbreak of the bacteria at Flicks restaurant on York Street. The restaurant management has voluntarily closed the premises and is assisting PHA with the investigation.

McCausland Visits £1.1m Housing Development
Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland has visited a recently completed, £1.1m housing development in Monkstown. The 12 family homes at Ards Drive have been developed by Connswater Homes with part funding from the Northern Ireland Executive. All homes have been allocated to families from the social housing waiting list.
