Police Ombudsman: Two Men Arrested Over Alleged Misconduct

Two men have been arrested in connection with alleged misconduct within the Police Ombudsman's Office.

The suspects, aged 62 and 67, were detained in England on Tuesday, 29 November, and have been brought to Northern Ireland for questioning.

It is linked to an investigation into allegations of misconduct by police officers in relation to the 'Derry Four' case.

Police are to send a report to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

Police Ombudsman Investigate Misconduct Allegation
The Police Ombudsman have launched an investigation into an allegation that a PSNI officer "photographed a dead person and shared at least one image by phone". The allegation was first reported by the Irish News, however the circumstances of the alleged incident have not been revealed.

Thirty nine police officers have been internally investigated for alleged sexual misconduct in the last five years, according to information released by the PSNI The information, released under a Freedom of Information request, revealed that four complaints have been upheld, with two officers being dismissed.
