Construction Work Starts On Student Flats In Belfast
Construction firm Gilbert Ash has started work on a block of student flats in Belfast.
The 474-bedroom development on Great Patrick Street is expected to be completed in August 2018.
The contract is being valued at £22million.
The scheme also includes a ground level retail unit and a landscaped courtyard.
Managing Director of Gilbert-Ash, Ray Hutchinson, said: "We anticipate that the project will support 300 construction jobs over the next year and a half. Alongside the City Quays Hotel in Belfast Harbour, Great Patrick Street represents one of the largest contracts that we have worked on in Northern Ireland in recent years and we are pleased to be working on another major project here."
The project is part of an overall investment of £37m in the development by Olympian Homes.

Construction Work Starts On £3.5m Development In East Belfast
Construction work has started on 28 new homes in the Dundonald area of east Belfast. Hagan Homes is developing the new houses in the Comber Road area and the scheme is expected to be completed by Spring 2019. 50 construction jobs are to be created and Phase 1 of the development is scheduled for completion later this year.

Resurfacing Project Starts In Armagh
Construction work has started on a £135,000 resurfacing project in County Armagh. The scheme, on the B31 Armagh Road, Newtownhamilton, will extend from the junction with Friary Road for 1.4kilometres.

Building work on a Co Antrim Asda store is continuing to progress - with piling work already well underway. As the landscape at Redlands in Larne changes to turn the site of the former Ferrymasters depot into a £20 million store, a spokesman for the supermarket giants confirmed that construction work was "progressing well".
