Woman Arrested Over Attempted Murder Of Police Officers Released
A 20-year-old woman arrested in connection with the attempted murder of police officers in west Belfast in 2015 has been released unconditionally.
Up to eight shots were fired at a parked PSNI car in the Rossnareen Avenue area in Andersonstown on 26 November.
Two officers who were in the vehicle at the time were not injured, however they were left badly shaken.
The woman was detained in Newry on Tuesday, 31 January, and has since been released.
Two properties were also searched during the operation.

The PSNI have welcomed the sentencing of an 89-year-old Belfast man for a significant number of non-recent sexual abuse offences. At Laganside Crown Court, Paul Dunleavy was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, to start in May 2026 at the conclusion of his current sentence.

Man Charged After Glenarm Shooting
Detectives investigating the incident on Feystown Road on Monday, 25 November, have charged a 41-year-old man with attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and criminal damage. The accused is due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, 28 November.

Illegal cigarettes seized in County Tyrone
Police in County Tyrone have seized around 60,000 illegal cigarettes during a raid yesterday evening. Shortly before 8pm, police searched a vehicle in the Victoria Bridge area of Strabane, during which they made the discovery. One man was arrested, but was later released pending further enquiries.

Man arrested over Belfast cannabis find
Following a planned search operation in south Belfast yesterday, officers seized around 14 cannabis plants and a quantity of paraphernalia associated with drugs. One man was arrested following the raid at the property in the Stranmillis Wharf area of the city, however was later released pending a report.

'Security document' stolen from Castlereagh, Minister confirms
Security Minister Ian Pearson has confirmed that a security document has been stolen from Castlereagh police station in east Belfast. Mr Pearson was responding to reports in the press in recent days about a security breach.
