Man Shot In Craigavon
A man is said to have suffered life-threatening injuries following a shooting incident in Craigavon.
Police said the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning, 13 February.
In a statement, Chief Inspector Jon Burrows said: "At approximately 1:45am, police received a report that a number of shots had been fired through the living room window of a house in the Carrigart Crescent area.
"A 31-year-old male who was in the house was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which are described as life threatening at this stage. There was no-one else in the house at the time."
Police have said they believe an automatic weapon was used in the attack to spray at least 20 bullets into the property. A motive for the incident is not yet clear, they added.
PSNI Chief Inspector Jon Burrows said: "We are genuinely unclear on the movie. Someone must know what the background to this was – why was this person targeted?
"It was a very orchestrated, carefully planned attack."
In addition, the PSNI said it was investigating a possible link to a silver Skoda car which was seen acting suspiciously in the Carrigart area before the shooting. It was found burnt out in the New Line area a short time later.
Anyone with information, or who noticed anything suspicious, is asked to contact Dungannon Police Station on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
