Woman 'Shaken' Following Attempted Robbery In East Belfast

A woman has been left shaken after a man is believed to have used a stun gun during an attempted robbery in east Belfast.

The incident happened at businesses premises on the Woodstock Road at around 9.15am on Friday, 31 March.

Masked men entered the building and demanded the female worker to hand over money.

One of the men used the stun gun twice before fleeing from the scene.

The man has been described as around 6ft in height and was wearing a black balaclava, navy sweatshirt, black trousers and carrying a navy holdall.”

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Former Headmaster Jailed For Child Sexual Abuse
The PSNI have welcomed the sentencing of an 89-year-old Belfast man for a significant number of non-recent sexual abuse offences. At Laganside Crown Court, Paul Dunleavy was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, to start in May 2026 at the conclusion of his current sentence.

Man Charged After Glenarm Shooting
Detectives investigating the incident on Feystown Road on Monday, 25 November, have charged a 41-year-old man with attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and criminal damage. The accused is due to appear at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, 28 November.

Man With Suspected Stun Gun Arrested In Belfast City Centre
Police have issued an appeal for information after a man was arrested in Belfast city centre with a suspected stun gun. At about 10.15am on Wednesday, CCTV operators alerted police to a man acting suspiciously on Castle Street. When police spoke to the man it is understood he attempted to runaway but fell and was arrested.
