Firearms And Ammunition Found In Co Tyrone
Firearms and ammunition have been discovered by police in Cookstown, Co Tyrone.
A member of the public raised concerns about objects he found on the Tullyveagh Road on Friday, 07 April.
Detective Inspector Will Tate said: "The items we have recovered include several rounds of ammunition and a handgun. The condition of the items and other evidence gathered at the scene would suggest they have been buried at that location for many years. They have now been sent for forensic testing.
"Our enquiries into this find are at an early stage and we would encourage anyone with knowledge of the items or any information that could assist the investigation to get in touch with detectives by calling 101, quoting reference number 1070 07/04/17."

Arson Attack On 5G Mast In West Belfast
Detectives in Belfast are investigating a suspected arson attack on a 5G mast in the Andersonstown Road area. The incident occurred around 9.55pm on Wednesday, November 13th. Detective Sergeant Faulkner confirmed that officers attended the scene alongside the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, who successfully extinguished the blaze.

Police have launched an investigation after a gun and ammunition were recovered during a search in south Belfast. The discovery was made in the Annadale Crescent area on Wednesday, 16 November. The items have been taken away for forensic examination. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Over 700 Rounds Of Ammunition Seized During Searches In West Belfast
Over 700 rounds of ammunition were seized by police during searches in west Belfast on Sunday. The searches were part of an investigation into dissident republican terrorist activity. A 57-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man were arrested and are being detained in custody.
