PSNI Car Hit With Crossbow Bolt Not Being Treated As Malicious
A police car that was damaged after it was hit by a metal-tipped bolt, fired by a crossbow, in Belfast, is not being treated as malicious.
The incident happened in the rear yard of Tennent Street police station between 5pm and 7pm on Wednesday, 10 May.
A man has come forward following an appeal for information.
The windscreen of the vehicle was shattered, however there was no one in the vehicle at the time.
Sergeant Greg Dawson said: "We do not believe that this was a malicious incident but we would remind owners of crossbows that these can be dangerous weapons and they should be aware of the possible criminal implications of their use.
"Owners of crossbows should be mindful of where and when they use them, especially within a residential area."

USPCA calls on Assembly to consider crossbow regulation
The USPCA has called on the Assembly to take action on the issue of crossbows following what the animal welfare organisation described as an "appalling" attack on a horse. The Clydesdale horse was found with a metal bolt lodged in its jaw, having been grazing on the Creggan estate when it was attacked.

Newry man in court over doctor attack
A 42-year-old man has been remanded in custody after being charged with an alleged knife attack at a Co Down hospital. Paul McCrossan from Canal Street in Newry appeared before Newry Magistrates' Court on Friday, charged with the attempted malicious wounding of a consultant psychiatrist at Daisy Hill Hospital in the town on Thursday.
