Work Starts On Carriageway Resurfacing Scheme
Work has started on a £120,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme in Belfast.
Carriageway resurfacing from Colinwell Road to Bell Steel Road will be carried out over 12 days from Monday 05 until Friday 16 June.
Diversions will be put in place and local access for residents will be maintained at all times during the scheme.
Lagan Construction Scoops Prestigious Award
Lagan Construction Group has scooped the Environmental Leadership Award, sponsored by Arthur Cox, at Business in the Community's Responsible Business Awards.
Roy Adair CBE, Chair, Business in the Community NI and Chief Executive, Belfast Harbour, said: "The Responsible Business Awards are a valuable opportunity to showcase and share responsible business practices, but also to celebrate the great things that Northern Ireland businesses are doing throughout the year.
"With award entries up 20% on last year, the judges had a tough time on their hands deciding the winners – the standard for entries was truly exceptional.
"I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate each and every one of our winners, and those who were shortlisted, for leading the way in responsible business practice. I hope that the achievements of the winning companies will inspire others to put responsible business at the heart of everything they do."
Removal Of Sinn Féin Election Posters Condemned
Sinn Féin's South Antrim MLA, and Westminster candidate Declan Kearney has condemned the recent removal of Sinn Féin election posters in the South Antrim constituency area.
Mr Kearney said: "In recent days Sinn Féin posters have been taken down at two locations in Antrim town and Glenavy. This follows the removal of Sinn Féin posters in the Sandyknowes and Carnmoney areas, when they were replaced with UDA flags.
"The removal of election posters is a blatant assault on the democratic process. I have reported these latest incidents to the PSNI and will expect a robust investigation into the theft of these posters.
"Sinn Féin election posters, along with Irish cultural symbols, continue to be burned in acts of sectarian hatred on 11th night rogue bonfires in Antrim.
"I have already raised the prospect of such hate crimes being repeated in Antrim town this year with senior PSNI officers and have been given assurances that evidence of any hate crimes will be rigorously pursued, and those found to be responsible brought before the courts."

Green Light For Business Park In Crumlin
Environment Minister Mark H Durkan has said planning approval has been recommended for a business park near Crumlin. The plans are for 23 small business units and 2,000 square metres of floor-space and would be located on part of a former World War Two Air Force camp site which is associated with the Langford Lodge airfield.

The Clinton Global Initiative conference opened yesterday, and was attended by Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams. He will be joined by First and Deputy First Minister Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness later.
