Three Arrests Over Suspected Hate Crime
Three men have been arrested in connection with a suspected hate crime following searches in the Armagh and Coalisland areas.
The men, aged 31, 38 and 47, were arrested following reports of anti-Islamic material being displayed in Armagh on Wednesday, 21 June.
Alliance Disappointed Over Court Of Appeal's Ruling
Alliance MLA Paula Bradshaw has said the Court of Appeal's ruling that should be up to politicians, not the courts, to decide on abortion law in Northern Ireland is 'extremely disappointing'.
The decision marked the second time this month the courts were forced to rule on the issue of abortion, signalling 'a need for urgent clarity' Paula added.
She said: "It is extremely disappointing that the landmark ruling of 2015, that saw the High Court rule the current law breached the European Convention on Human Rights in cases of fatal foetal abnormality or sexual crime, has now been set back.
"We need urgent clarity on this issue. Abortion is a conscience issue for Alliance, but the current ambiguity around the law here simply is not working and in some cases putting more people at risk - as we witnessed in a case earlier this month when the courts ruled women from Northern Ireland are not entitled to free abortions on the NHS in England.
"However, as the UK in general has taken a greater interest in Northern Ireland following the Westminster election, our laws around abortion and other social issues have also fallen under that microscope. I was proud to be one of four MLAs who signed a letter in support of Stella Creasy MPs amendment to the Queen's speech calling for the NHS in England to provide safe and free abortions in England.
"What is required is a fundamental change in the law to give women the help they need when they need it. I will be following the debate in parliament later today with interest and will continue to meet with local organisations - including the Family Planning Association tomorrow - to see how we can best see change realised."
Term Of Appt For Utility Regulator Chair Increased
The term of appointment for the Chair of the Utility Regulator, Dr Bill Emery, has been increased by 12 months to 30 June 2018.
There will be no increase in Dr Emery's annual remuneration of £34,068.

Four Arrested Following Disorder In South Belfast
Four men have been arrested following public disorder incidents in the university area of south Belfast on Thursday, November 14th. Police responded to a number of offences, including resisting and obstructing police, and assault on police. Three men, aged 18, 20, and 21, have been charged and are due to appear in court in December.

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.

Pedestrian Dies Following Road Traffic Collision Ikn West Belfast
A female pedestrian in her 70s has tragically died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast on Saturday, 9th November. The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured pedestrians were taken to hospital.
