Five 'Large' Bags Of Drugs Collected From Drug Disposal Bins
Police have collected five "large" bags of drugs from anonymous drug disposal bins installed in West Belfast less than a week ago.
The PSNI posted a picture of two of five bags of mixed drugs recovered from the bins in the last few days.
The Rapid Drugs Bin, which allows anyone to anonymously dispose of any unwanted drugs whether prescription or illegal, were installed at the Kennedy Centre, the Falls Community Council and the Dairy Farm.
In the Facebook post, the PSNI said: "There has been a significant amount of both prescription and illegal drugs handed into these bins including strong painkillers, pregablin, cannabis and suspected class A drugs. This project is already demonstrating its worth to the community in getting these dangerous drugs off our streets.
"Well done to all the partner agencies involved in making this project work. Keep using it!"

A Newtownabbey man has been handed a custodial sentence for a series of drugs offences following police raids as part of a paramilitary probe. 49-year-old William Axon will serve two years imprisonment, half in custody and half on licence.

'A' Level School Leavers Increase 5%
The number of pupils in Northern Ireland achieving two or more 'A' levels or equivalent increased by 4.9% during the five years to 2012/13, according to the Department of Education. The proportion of school leavers achieving two or more 'A' levels or equivalent was 55.1%, up from from 50.2% in 2008/09.

Belfast council unveil recycling plans
Belfast City Council today announced plans for an improved bin collection service – with the main emphasis on recycling. Over recent weeks, 11,000 homes in south Belfast have received new brown bins, for garden waste. These compliment their blue bins – which from next month will take paper as well as cardboard, plastic bottles, tins and cans.
