Funeral Held For Dean McIlwaine

The funeral of Dean McIlwaine, whose body was found at Cave Hill Country Park on Saturday, 22 July, has taken place.

Hundreds of people gathered to pay their final respects to the Newtownabbey man.

The funeral took place at Carnmoney Presbyterian Church followed by a burial at Carnmoney Cemetary.

He was last seen in the Carnmoney Road area on Thursday, 13 July.

Funeral Held For Dean McIlwaine
The funeral for Dean McIlwaine has been held in Carnmoney. Mr McIlwaine (22) went missing on Thursday, 13 July and a number of large scale search operations were carried across the city. His body was found by searchers on Cavehill on Saturday, 22 July.

Man Critical After Attack
A man who was attacked in Newtownabbey on Monday remains in a critical condition in hospital. The man, 42, and another male were assaulted as they walked along Carnmoney Road at around 1am. Both victims sustained head injuries, however the other man has been discharged. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Loyalist group claim responsibility for stab attack on sexton
It has been revealed that loyalist paramilitary group the Red Hand Defenders are behind an attack on a Carnmoney sexton only hours before murdered teenager Gavin Brett was laid to rest at the church.
