Warning Issued Over Fake Royal Mail Missed Delivery Cards
Action Fraud has issued a warning over a fraud involving fake Royal Mail missed delivery cards.
It is understood that 'something for you' cards are being posted through letterboxes claiming that a delivery couldn't be made. The recipient is urged to call a number on the card to arrange re-delivery, at which point they are prompted to give their details.
Action Fraud said the fraudulent cards can be recognised as they do not carry the Royal Mail logo.
Royal Mail is investigating the fraud as a "matter of urgency" and has urged customers to check delivery cards "very carefully to ensure they are genuine".
