Investigation Launched Following Suspected Hit And Run In East Belfast

An investigation has been launched following a suspected hit and run collision in east Belfast.

A woman and a young girl were knocked down at a pedestrian crossing on the Newtownards Road at around 8pm on Wednesday, 10 January.

The black car failed to stay at the scene and made off in the direction of Dundonald.

Both the woman and young girl received medical treatment, however their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Young Girl Hit By Lorry In East Belfast
A young girl has been taken to hospital after an incident in which she was hit by a lorry in east Belfast. The 10-year-old was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital. Police said the child's injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The incident happened at businesses premises on the Woodstock Road at around 9.15am on Friday, 31 March. Masked men entered the building and demanded the female worker to hand over money.

Man arrested following east Belfast stabbing
Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a stabbing in the Mount area of East Belfast. The victim, a 42-year-old man, sustained a stab wound to the chest and was taken to hospital where his description is described as "serious but stable." The attack occurred at around 8.20am on Monday.

Child Hurt In East Belfast Sectarian Attack
An east Belfast politician has condemned an incident in the area that police are treating as sectarian during which a young girl suffered an arm injury. It took place at a house in Derwent Street on Monday and saw the young girl injured after a gang of men attacked a house with hammers.
