PUP Leader Billy Hutchinson Breaks Hip In Fall
Belfast City Councillor Billy Hutchinson has broken his hip.
The PUP leader is in hospital and is currently waiting for an operation to be carried out.
PUP Councillor Julie-Anne Corr-Johnstone said he had a "pretty nasty fall".
She wrote on Twitter: "Much to his frustration he will be out of action for a while however @cllrjohnkyle & I will endeavour to pick up in his absence. Wishing Billy a speedy recovery."

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.

Two NI Hospitals Score Poorly For Hip Replacement Surgery
Two hospitals in Northern Ireland have scored very poorly in a nationwide survey for hip replacement surgery. The survey, carried out for the Royal College of Surgeons, showed the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) in Belfast treated 63% of hip surgery patients within 48 hours compared to the national average of 81%.

Child Road Fatality Named
A three-year-old fatally struck by a car in Coleraine has been named as Roma McAleese. The girl, who was from the Ashdale area of the town, died following the incident last night. It is believed was playing in Ashdale Park at about 6.45pm when she was hit by the vehicle. Roma was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

USPCA reveal increase in animal cruelty
The Ulster Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (USPCA) has revealed that the number of acts of cruelty to animals in Northern Ireland is rising. The figures followed the news of the mutilation of a family's cat in north Belfast. The pet had all four of its leg's cut off and left in the driveway of the owner's home on Wednesday.
