Investigation Launched Following Fire At Former Belfast Telegraph Building
An investigation has launched following a blaze at the former Belfast Telegraph building on Royal Avenue.
The fire broke out on the first floor at around 3.30am on Thursday, 22 February.
Emergency services attended the scene and eight fire crews were used to put out the blaze.
A spokesperson from the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a main jet, a jet and a covering jet to extinguish the blaze. Crews ventilated the smoke from the premises. The cause of the fire is under-investigation."

SF Calls For Action On NI Mental Health Services
Sinn Féin has called for more to be done to improve mental health services across the north of Ireland. The party's mental health spokesperson, MLA Órlaithí Flynn, made the call after the release of the Registrar General's 2023 Annual Report which has highlighted an increase in deaths by suicide in 2023.

THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Two Jet Skiers Rescued In Limavady
Portrush RNLI has rescued two jet skiers after the got into difficulties at Benone Beach, Co Londonderry. The alert was raised by a friend of the two men, who noticed that one had fallen off the jet ski and into the water. The weather conditions at the time were blustery and chilly, and the sea was choppy and extremely cold.

Fire crews deal with separate fires in Co Antrim
Police are appealing for information following two suspicious fires in Co Antrim in the early hours of Friday morning. The first fire was discovered at a factory unit in north Belfast at around 12 midnight. It is believed the blaze started when paper inside the unit was set alight. Some windows and two other units were damaged in the fire.
