PSNI Team Set Up To Investigate Fr Finegan Abuse Allegations

The PSNI are investigating allegations of child abuse by Fr Malachy Finegan.

The priest, who died in 2002, has been accused of a number of sexual and physical abuse against young boys.

A dedicated team has been established within the Public Prosecution Branch of the PSNI.

A statement from the police said: "If you were abused by Father Malachy Finegan, or abused by any other person at St Colman's between 1967 and 1987, the investigation team would like to hear from you."

Detectives also want to find out is past pupils of St Colman's College in Newry were abused by anyone other than Fr Finegan.
