Man Charged Over Robbery At Fast-Food Outlet In Newtownards

A man is to appear in court after being charged in connection with a robbery at a fast-food outlet in Newtownards, Co Down.

Police charged the man, aged 28, with two counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery and three counts of possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Following his arrest, detectives also linked him with two previous incidents on 25 and 26 March in the Bangor and Newtownards areas.

He is due before Newtownards Magistrates Court today, 28 March.

Teenage Girl In Serious Condition After Being Hit By Car
Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager girl was hit by a car on the Upper Newtownards Road at about 08:40 on Tuesday morning. The girl is currently in a serious condition in hospital. Police have arrested a man, aged in his 30s, in connection with the incident.
