Appeal For Information On Armed Robbery In Newtownards
Police in Newtownards have issued an appeal for information on an armed robbery of a shop in the town on Saturday, 18 July.
According to police, on Saturday night a man entered a shop on High Street at around 9:50pm and threatened staff with a knife, demanding money.
It is understood that the man fled the scene on a dark-coloured bicycle in the direction of Conway Square. He is described as being aged in his mid-20s, approximately 5' 10" to 5' 11" in height, of a slim build with dark fair hair and was wearing a black-coloured jacket, black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes on the sides and light grey trainers.
Police have appealed to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and may have witnessed anything suspicious, or seen the suspect on the bicycle to contact them. Information can also given anonymously to Crimestoppers.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Police are appealing for information following an attempted armed robbery at a shop in Ballymena, Co Antrim. The incident occurred at a shop in the Larne Road area just after 7.40pm on Wednesday. A masked man armed with a knife demanded a staff member to open the till. However, the employee threw water over him and he made off empty handed.
